When does a pink cross the line and become red? Tourmaline shares this problem with corundum (ruby and pink sapphire) and it can be a very personal opinion, that will be debated forever. I think that lightning makes a big difference as usual.
This standard round brilliant is probably a deep rich pink under most white lights, but I am sure that it has flashes of red at times. Its tone level is darker, but that does not limit its flash, only the general feeling of brightness it has, when you compare it with hot pink. It is so slightly included that I need to turn it upside down to see the inclusions. It is a fine addition to the droplets of color pink extravaganza. It weighs .54 carats.
