A new variety of tourmaline that has a very rare if not unique reverse alexandrite color change, It is purple in cool natural light and bluish in warm incandescent light. It is colored by both copper and manganese and comes from Mozambique. It can be heated to African Paraiba, that has a neon cyan to blue green color. It is much rarer than diamond and could have a value comparable to rubies, sapphires and emeralds. I faceted the pictured gemstones.
