Purple Tourmaline Gemstones
Oval – Over 5 Carats

img_0041
This oval is eye clean and with fine crystal which is unusual for cuprian tourmaline from Mozambique. Its lavender color that probably came from heating richly colored purplish red rough is an unusual color for tourmaline. It is lightly toned, but still a nice pastel that is well saturated. It weighs 5.13 carats.

A historic and extremely rare gemstone. It reverse Alexandrite changes color, lavender to blue gray and contains copper. This is the original Laurellite that I sent to the GIA to be tested. It weighs 5.37 carats and is a fine medium toned oval with inclusions that do not impact the stone much.
